Our comprehensive communication evaluation process includes a multi-session intake with the student’s educational team and family/caregivers, at least one student observation, an evaluation session with the student to assess AAC options, and an extensive evaluation report that provides a complete communication profile for the student with AAC recommendations. In addition, we provide resources, information and recommendations regarding how best to support the student’s learning, language & literacy development, regulation and executive function development. If recommended, we also support the student’s team through the process of trialing and funding a speech generating device.

We provide consultation to educational teams regarding supporting their AAC communicators, program development and more.

Supporting an AAC communicator requires a community effort. We work with teams to develop the skills truly needed to help their student’s thrive as communicators, learners and members of a community. We work with small teams related to specific students. We also work with larger groups within a school or supervisory union to address skills and knowledge development at a systemic level.
